Frequently I'm asked a question why did you decide to become a hairdresser. After pondering this question I came to realize I didn't choose to become a hairdresser the profession of cosmetology chose me. I have always been an advocate for encouraging and motivating others to be their best selves. I receive instant Joy from uplifting others and making them feel good about themselves. Having the talent to encourage others by picking up a comb or brush is a blessing! One day it dawned on me that I want to reach more. Now the question to myself was how. How can I make an impact on others that I don't know? What can I do  as a hairdresser that can make a difference in the lives of many? How can I reach the masses. My answer- teach the masses. Work with others and encourage them the same way my mentors encouraged me. Teach them the tricks of the trade. Teach them how to empower and showcase confidence. Be an open book. Be the person I was destined to be. Be an influencer a psychiatrist or a friend. Be all of these things with a comb or a brush in my hand! Why a hairdresser? Because it's the only career that the fufills my desire  to empower,  encourage  and uplift all. Whether I'm behind the chair or traveling to educate I do it with one question in mind "how can I help?". #withacombandbrushinmyhand.
